Registered Play Therapist (PTUK) Specialising in Children’s Emotional Wellbeing in Northumberland
Welcome
Thank you for visiting my web site.

I am a fully qualified Play Therapist based in the beautiful countryside of Northumberland. I work with children aged 4–18 to support emotional wellbeing, anxiety, behaviour and school issues through play therapy. My work integrates the therapeutic use of a wide range of creative arts media ideal for children to explore their feelings and express themselves. Please read on to find out about how Play Therapy works, how it is delivered and the other support we can provide you and your family.

My story
Having trained at RADA I enjoyed a successful career in Theatre. The birth of my beautiful boy changed my life; suddenly there was a whole other world to explore and enjoy - a wonderful world that was at times exciting, challenging and always changing. I began working in school settings as support staff and was introduced to Theatre of a completely different nature!
I trained as a Thrive Practitioner in order to support the children more holistically , but continued to see that the beautiful children around me deserved more than the (primarily) academic support they were being given. I gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Therapeutic Play and went on to complete my training with a Post Graduate Diploma in Play Therapy from Leeds Beckett University. I have enjoyed providing Play Therapy for groups of children, one to one Play Therapy in school settings and at my Private Practice.
How we maintain the highest standards of care.
The PTUK Play Therapy Register is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. This means PTUK members are required to have high quality standards of practice. As a member I am required to maintain an up to date DBS Certificate, have ICO and PPS Insurance Certificates, and each year I am required to keep upto date with the latest Safe Guarding training and continuous professional development .
As a certified member of PTUK I benefit from regular Supervision from a qualifed Supervisor. The role of a Clinical Supervisor is to provide support and advice upon issues that arise during my clinical work. These may be matters of therapeutic techniques or therapeutic ethical decisions and ensure your child enjoys the best care.
